| Festivaldirecteur Mark Yeoman van Noorderzon zag tijdens Noorderzon 2007 dit Duitse familiebedrijf optreden in de Spiegeltent en meende dat Ulman het beste was dat de Europese folkscene de laatste jaren had voorgebracht. Uiteraard mag iedereen dit voor zichzelf beoordelen, feit is wel dat dit kwartet uit Leipzig de afgelopen jaren een grote reputatie heeft opgebouwd in de Europese folk- en wereldmuziekscene. | For about ten years ULMAN have built a reputation in the European folk and world music scene. The four young musicians from Leipzig were enthusiastically welcomed at festivals in Saint Chartier, Kaustinen, Falun, Roskilde and Groningen. They received the Folkförderpreis in Rudolstadt (D), were nominated for the „Eiserner Eversteiner“ (Germany´s only European folk award) and have won the “Creole 2007 Prize for Worldmusic from Germany“.
