Tijdens Trad.It! 2006 ging het als een lopend vuurtje rond dat er in de Kelder een superswingend bandje stond te spelen dat je gezien móest hebben. Het gevolg was een totale opstopping bij de zaalingang. Dat gaan we nu recht zetten want Hotel Palindrone – want daarover hebben we het natuurlijk – staat opnieuw op Trad.it!, dit keer op een podium met wat meer ruimte voor zowel band als publiek.
Hotel Palindrone benadert Oostenrijkse Alpinemuziek en andere Europese tradities met een frisse en moderne aanpak. Zelf spreken ze van Alpine Roots Fusion, waarin met het grootste gemak geschakeld |

wordt tussen gejodel, Schützentanz, Zweedse nyckelharpa en Bretonse bombarde. Het resultaat is een swingend en zeer dansbaar Europees Bal Folk !

| Bagpipes from all over Europe, Irish-Italian mandola, Swedish nyckelharp, jew’s-harp, bass guitar, saxophone, … Nearly twenty instruments and four musicians. Does it works? Oh, yes it does and it does perfectly well! Profound knowledge of European folk-traditions is blended with influences from jazz and classics. The musicians play passionately and their tunes are full of groove and swing. Evidently, Hotel Palindrone has the same fun on stage as the audience has. elements. Timeless tunes which oscillate effortlessly between nostalgic -sometimes archaic – impressions and a modern attitude towards life. Hotel Palindrone emphasize their Austrian musical roots. This does not mean they want to be traditionalists strictly preserving a regional heritage: The musicians consider themselves communicators who highlight and allude to the rich variety of European music. HP plays powerfully and sensitively for dancers, (bal folk) a quality which they proved on their tours and at prestigious festivals such as Rudolstadt and Leipzig (Germany). |
